Fix Tooth Imperfections Quickly & Comfortably

Dental bonding is the perfect solution for those with small imperfections in their smile, ranging from discoloration to chipping.  Bonding is a restoration procedure where your dentist takes a tooth-colored resin is bonded to a tooth and cured with valo curing light. Bonding is faster and cheaper than veneers or crowns, and can still make a huge improvement in the appearance of your smile. Bonding is quick and easy, usually being done within one office visit since nothing has to be sent out to be made by a dental laboratory. Additionally, the procedure typically requires removing less the tooth enamel compared to veneers and crowns, meaning that more of your healthy teeth is preserved, and trust us, having more teeth is better.

The only downside to bonding is that it typically doesn’t last as long as other forms of restoration and is less resistant to stains. Perfect for those small cosmetic touchups, but less suitable if you’re in need of a major restoration.

How Does Dental Bonding Work?

When you come into our office at Family Tree Dental for dental bonding, the procedure typically requires between 30 to 60 minutes to complete for each tooth. First your dentist determines exactly what color shade your teeth are, in order to select a resin that will match with your teeth for a perfectly natural looking smile. Next, your dentist will prepare the tooth so that the bonding material will adhere easier, by gently roughening the surface of the affected tooth and applying a liquid conditioner that will aid in the bonding process. Once this is complete, the dentist will apply the resin to the tooth, and cure it in place using an valo blue curing light. Finally, the dentist will apply the finishing touches by shaping and polishing the resin for a good fit, so that your newly restored tooth is nothing less than perfect.
